How do you create a global network that enables Avis to share such knowledge, expertise and best practice with their licensees all over the world?

Having individuals flying around the world sharing information personally was never going to be a practical solution. So we created the Avis Licensee Portal, an online portal that any licensee can access, to get all the knowledge and expertise they need to help them win and manage partnership relationships.

It is essentially a "how to" guide, where the expertise of Avis Europe is shared with their colleagues all over the world. The portal includes information on current partnerships and promotions, hints and tips and the contact details of partnership experts from Avis Europe. However, the portal is not a static, one-way stream of information. The portal is an interactive tool that enables licensees to directly contact the people they need to speak with to develop and leverage business opportunities. It also allows them to chat online to other Avis licensees in similar positions all over the globe. This facilitates the sharing of marketing intelligence, strategies and tactics.

Avis are delighted with the results, so much so that there are plans to roll out the portal across other areas of the business. The reach and parameters of the portal are increasing to change the concept into a more general “best practice” portal, and is encouraging greater communication within Avis worldwide.
